Why the government should reconsider the timing of taking that ferry to an offshore island.
(but yay, I get to take a ferry every weekend!)

For January guys, we don't get enough time to:
- take up internships which would allow us to fulfil our full potential before signing up for universities and scholarships, which would give us a much better shot at those
- spend time with our families, as in accordance with the government's aim of encouraging intergenerational interaction (including grandparents, beyond the nucleated family)
- consider our paths in life: how am I gonna read so many education guides, think through, sign up, etc etc to really really decide, once and for all, what I'm going to do with this life?
- to rebuild the social relations that degenerated during the isolated, mugging period
- TAKE A DAMNED SUFFICIENT BREAK FROM EDUCATION. we have just spent 12 years of our lives slogging our asses off for the benefit of this glorious nation, playing our part in the ever-so-precious, our nation's one-and-only resource - "human resource" - yet we only get 1 month to really enjoy taking a break from the stressful, fast-paced, non-stop lifestyle Singapore is known for.

That's why after all this, Singaporeans realise the nature of life here, and consider, seriously, a life elsewhere.

They have objectified us as a resource.

I was hoping it would be WAAAAY later. Then I can spend much much more time with my friends! THERE WAS SO MUCH I WANTED TO DO!!! Travelling, make my own Christmas cards again, parties, more and more and more going out until either a) I ran out of money or b) I got sian. RARR. Ah well. There was so much I wanted to do! REALLY REALLY SO MUCH. DO YOU FEEL MY PAIN?

I think NS will be a good experience. They're gonna give me so much stuff! I wonder how I'll lug it all around. And at least half of the VJC guys are going in the same time as me! So I won't feel that alone. I wonder what BMT is like. Sigh. I hope when I leave 2 years later, I'll still be the happy, cheerful Mark you know, and that all my friends will still be as close and there for me :)

I din't get to talk much about what happened during the last day as 07S41, because it was so late and I spent the time making that video! So anyway, farewell was pretty fun, and it's amazing how much we've grown and changed over these 4 years. I've learnt so much, about the world, the people around me, and myself. All the photos, all those moments, all those memories... will never be lost or forgotten! To be able to see your JC life in an hour... to be able to dance those mass dances one last time... to be able to sing that anthem one last time...

I'm feel most blessed and thankful to have been part of the two greatest classes in the world! 05V13 and 07S41! We've really gone through so many ups and downs together all these years, but we got through together, and we've come out stronger, happier, and better in the end! Thank you for all the memories, the photos, and for the wonderful experiences we shared together! :) Thank you for giving me wonderful friends :) LOVE YOU SO MUCH :)

I'm thankful for having the coolest teachers, like Angela Wu, Najib Madina, Dax Young, Martin Beetsma, and all the too cool for school teachers who made school so so so much fun! And to Ms Wu, thank you for the coolest CD I've ever had! :) And to the V.Actors, now the Dramatic Society, thank you for giving me the chance to lead the craziest, funnest bunch of people ever! I loved being onstage and offstage with you guys and girls so thank you so much!

So as we walk away, just know that this is not the end...

As we go on, we remember all the times we had together
And as our lives change, come whatever, we will still be friends forever!
