Today was such a fun day! :) Went out for a late lunch with Pamela at Thai Express and talked there and walked around Citilink and Suntec. Then I decided to get a camera tomorrow at Sitex! So after we looked at cameras and clothing, I went to meet Wingyan and we had dinner at the Soup Spoon! :) MMM. Simon and Garfunkel soup is nice. Haha we went to the Singapore Design Festival! They give out cool stuff! And I love being immersed in wonderful designs. :)

Yay I'm deciding between the Canon Digital Ixus 70 and 75. They're almost the same with 7.1MP and all, except:

Price - 70: $439, 75: $499
LCD screen - 70: 2.5", 75: 3.0"
Optical viewfinder - 70: Yes, 75: No
Shape: 70: Squarier, 75: SEXY.

Sigh. I hate making difficult decisions :(

Sometimes it hurts me to see everyone around me put on their act. Sometimes I feel like no one really cares about me, they just do it all for themselves - their own satisfaction, their own happiness - and when they're satisfied and happy, they ignore me, abandon me, shove me aside. (Of course, not you dear, only you care. I'm happy to have you by my side. And the few others that really care about me.) They only come to me when they need me, when they need something from me. Do my friends really care? Or is it some selfish desire? Sometimes it hurts to know that I act so well in front of everyone, just so that no one worries about me, that my facade becomes me, and I become my facade, the line between the act and the reality fades into nothing.

Oh! New soups!

** New ** Broccoli and Crab Bisque
Someone once said if we ate only what was good for us, a healthy dose of broccoli would be on our menus every day. A daily broccoli ration sounds about as appetizing as multiple vitamin pills, and about as reasonable. Some researcher is sure to discover that broccophiles turn green after a while or they sprout florets in the oddest places. However, broccoli contains glucosinolates which protect against cancer and it is also a power food rich in calcium, vitamin K and folic acid all important for healthy bones and joints. Here, I have pureed the broccoli to a smooth texture and cooked with crabmeat and finished off with cream to make this a simple yet intoxicating soup.

** New ** Chunky Beef Barley and Mushroom Broth
This would have to be a “big soup” fit to be labeled as a one pot meal. This is a veritable cornucopia of flavors combining to produce a rich and satisfying broth. The blending of tender beef, crunchy cloud ears, fragrant oriental mushroom and chewy barley cooked in a rich beef broth is definitely enough to satisfy any appetite whether big or small.

** New ** Simon and Garfunkel Chicken and Mushroom Ragout (Chicken) Chunky
Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme…. as the album goes…. Scarborough Fair/Canticle… released by the duo Simon and Garfunkel in 1966. This ragout pays tribute to one of the most influential groups of the bygone era. Yes, this rich, creamy stew is filled with marinated chunks of chicken cooked together with the infamous foursome herbs and 6 types of mushroom including the woodsy Portobello, smooth oyster and abalone mushroom, the oriental enoki and shitake and the ever popular buttons. These foursome herbs are known for their mood enhancing abilities with a wide range of cleansing and protective properties. Sage eases indigestion, rosemary is anti-inflammatory, thyme a good expectorant and parsley a powerful antioxidant. Need any more convincing?

I just watched HSM2. And omg I love it! It's more "mature" than HSM - there's more romance, backstabbing, politics, career etc, even a real kiss!. Bbut it's the same formula: about friendship, a duet near the end, the same all for one and we're all in this together song at the end. And Gabriella's emo songs are always so nice! And everyone just loves "I Don't Dance". And somehow, all the girls love Ryan. Haha I love holidays! :)

Mark is happy because he's having Tokyo Chicken Stew from The Soup Spoon now! :) MMM... I love how they package their takeaways. Like in a bowl, with a bun in the top cover. And the orange spoon is so cute! MMM. I was so craving soup these few days so I decided to go to the Soup Spoon in Raffles Place to bring a bowl back. It's so crowded during lunch..

Wingyan and I had lunch at O'Briens! :) MMM. And by the river :) Haha I love bacon. And soup.

And you.

This is one of the walks that few Singaporeans take - the Changi Coastal walk. You get good views of Ubin, Tekong, and a bit foggy view of Johor. Go there in the evening and the weather's gorgeous, because you're walking just above where the sand meets the sea. Got to see what dredging really is!

My favourite Japanese restaurant in Singapore (: They sell tempura ice cream now! Woohoo! The sashimi's always fresh, the food's always good. Then we had drinks at the lounge and I had a doubleshot of Bailey's which I haven't had since some time after NZ. Haha yay.

Haha life without going out is BORING ): I should start my homework soon. AND exercising. But I'm too lazy. Argh. Never mind. Soon soon. Tomorrow going to school to do some Geography stock in the geog room. Bleh.

I miss you.

BTW, I was wrong about Auckland. Asians are the 2nd largest group there, not the 3rd.

Europeans (49.8%), Asians (22.4%), Pacific Islanders (12%) and Maori (7.2%)

It's like a home away from home!

stardust

Stardust is so sweet! :) I watched it yesterday. AWW. It's really really sweet. We both want to watch it again! :) I shall buy the DVD! Haha I love Yvaine! The star! She's pretty and sweet and although the whole thing is rather mushy sometimes, I think the part where she talks about love (to the guy who became a cute mouse!) and what she said is really true! And I love the way she glows when she's happy and in love! I'm still hopelessly romantic in that way :) If only dreams came true that way.

But my dream is already reality :)

A long but happy day (:

Celebrated Nazri's birthday today! We went to eat at Pizza Hut Marina. The service there is the best among all Pizza Hut outlets! Haha, and we had a feast! MMM I love ocean catch crispy thin pizza :) Then we Daytona-ed! HAHA I love Daytona! Then they went to watch Stardust and I went home to go for the SHPS GEP 10th Anniversary Dinner. It was quite nice, getting to see people from the past and all. The food was good (: There was Peking duck! And we sang Graduation. And took lots of photos. (:

"My whipped ice dairy drink brings the attention of many males to my place of residence and/ or employment, and they declare that its quality far surpasses that of yours. Absolutely, it far surpasses yours. I could convey to you the recipe, but i would have to demand compensation."

I was thinking, as I drifted in and out of sleep this morning, that my trip this holiday has been deteriorating because according to my parents, "Singaporeans are crazy about holidays now" and according to wingyan, because of the "booming economy" and according to me, "Singaporeans are running out of places to go." It's really crazy now.

So anyway, it started off as my family going to Vancouver, then Hokkaido/Auckland, then Hong Kong, then Kuching, then Kuala Lumpur. Then my mum tells me just as I'm waking up that we're going to Hong Kong and Malaysia. Hmm. Ah well. Edit: additional trip to Malaysia!! And maybe with friends coming along! I hope it's Kuching, then can eat Kuching OYSTER OMELETTE. Omg I thought I was joking when I said I'd go Kuching again just to eat oyster omelette, and now I'm actually about to do it.

So far away from you.

"It's in the silences, the words you never say
I see it in your eyes, it always starts the same way
It seems like everyone we know, is breaking up
Does anybody ever stay in love, anymore?

I promise you, from the bottom of my heart
I will love you till death do us part
I promise you as a lover and a friend
I will love you like I never love again
With everything I am"

Haha spent the WHOLE day out! :) funfun! Went to Discovery Centre. I think Fighter Pilot: Operation Red Flag was the best part of SDC :) I love that show! I watched it overseas last time. It's my destiny! Anyway, we also went to the Army Museum. Haha I wanna do humanitarian stuff next time. And I still want to be in the RSAF! :) Dinner at Central and supper at PS :)

Yay happy happy day! Tomorrow going out with Joanne for B&J! And possibly Beach Blowout, though I don't feel like going cos most of the v13 people will be in Thailand. Haha and I have to chiong CCA plan over this weekend. Don't know how I'm gonna do that. Sigh. I've got a craving for Tabasco!

Yay! I finally decided on a case and got a grey silicone Lava one for my iPod Nano. It's quite cute. And feels super clean. But I used a LOT of strength to push my iPod in. Hmm I hope it's still in perfect condition. I think I'd be upset if it weren't. Anyway, had dinner at some noodles place across Bugis, and cake at Hans. Quite nice :) Yay going out the whole day tomorrow! Looking forward to it :)

Firstly,

HAPPY 17th BIRTHDAY PAMMIE! :)

iPod Nano status: ready to use!

I stayed home to watch 7th Heaven. I feel I've learnt much more from the last few episodes of 7th Heaven than in church, because they're oh-so-relevant to teenagers. Anyway, I went down to have lunch alone (one of the rare times I eat alone) and had lasagna! :) Then I came back and opened my iPod Nano packaging.

The gorgeousness took my breath away. My hands trembled as they caressed her silky smooth skin. I slipped my fingers under her covers. She was perfect.

No cosmetic damage! Just shiny shiny shiny chrome all the way! Woohoo. I love the slipcase, so velvet, so black. Then I plugged it in and synced my albums to a brand new iPod Nano. I'm kind of used to iTunes now. It's much neater than my WMP and can edit the music info much more reliably. So yeah. iTunes is not that bad, I guess I take a while to get used to new stuff. I love the way my iPod and iTunes music is sooo neat. I'm a perfectionist and I love it. Then I tried it out and it was perfect.

Yay! Now I shall go schedule my holidays, which officially start tomorrow. A whole 8 weeks of BLISS and LOVE and HAPPINESS.

Symposium was interesting. So-so la. Can't be compared to last year's. Changed too much already. I chaired Imagineering Studio 1 - SS and IM. Haha quite fun. The juniors were better than yesterday and I think they handled the questions quite well. Then darkside and tey came back! Yay! Another rare chance to catch up and kena suan by darkside about my iPod Nano. Then we had a pseudo-v13 lunch at pastamania and ms low came for a while to talk and gossip HOHO. And scoopz!! MMM I love their cookies and cream! :)

Then Michelle dragged me to Eastpoint and I ended up helping Jovena with her I&R. HAHA super random! But quite fun! It's satisfying but now it makes me feel like my I&R could have been better :( Sigh. Then I went home and fell asleep. And woke up to shower and dinner.

Now I'm adding music to my iTunes library in preparation for my iPod Nano. Ok I don't really like iTunes because I totally haven't organised it and it's laggier than WMP. And has to convert all my WMA files. So I don't think I'll be using it except to add music to my Nano. I've too much music, and it's sooo messy the first time I tried. So I erased everything and now I've decided to add full albums first. I have three main music folders:

My Music - music I got from long ago and new albums imported from CDS
Songs - new mp3s (note: VERY MESSY)
Albums - new downloaded albums

So now I'm adding the albums from My Music and Albums to iTunes. Wah I hate the whole converting WMA to MP3 thing. It's taking up lots of space. I might delete the WMAs and replace them with the MP3s, but that'll have to wait.

iPod, that's one down for being so hard to manage!

A HAPPY HAPPY DAY!!!

My iPod Nano came at 1600 today! But no one was at home to collect it. boo :( So I have to call them tomorrow and tell them to come again. But yay soon soon! Anyway, it's been a wonderful day! :)

I went to MPCL and read comics and design books till 4 and went around raffles city looking at stuff. Then took a bus down to Laura's house for RM reunion! Super fun! :) There's Settlers Cafe just below her block and me Michelle Laura stayed there from 7 to 10 playing random games! I love the last game we played "you must be an idiot!" Haha cos I knew a lot of answers but I still lost ): cos I'm not an idiot ): Haha! Then we had icecream! And camwhored till late at night.

YAY IPOD NANO TOMORROW!!! Hopefully.
